Definitely. You can issue certificates and digital badges for any combination of face to face, online, webinar, or hybrid events. You can show how the training was delivered on the certificate/badge itself.

Certificates you created will be maintained on the system and they remain accessible via the link and verification.  We recommend that attendees download certificates for their own record.  Once your subscription ends, you will no longer be able to access to system to create new certificates.

Sometimes we are asked, what happens if Open CPD goes out of business. It would be a real shame and we will do everything in our power to avoid that, but in the internet age, this could also happen. We have plans in place for such an event and we will allow all recipients to download or back up their certificates before closing the service. However, such a situation is very unlikely.

About blockchain and security

Non-Fungible things are items that cannot be replaced with another item that is practically the same. Nothing is equivalent to a non-fungible item.

NFTs look like regular files you can find on the internet.  The certificates are technically .pdf documents. So how can you tell whether they are really on the blockchain?

There is a simple answer and a complicated answer. The simple one is that if you click on the link it will have the following combination in it: nft.open-cpd.com/ipfs/XXXXX

The more complicated. There are services that will can check if the document you have is identical to the one on the blockchain. Please contact us if you’d like to have it checked and we will provide further details.

Our NFTs are pinned to the IPFS which does not require a wallet. Unlike services that require wallets (for sending and receiving NFTs), this implementation is all about not allowing any changes. There is no need to add these documents to wallets as they are public.

This is a great question as we are working on adding that feature. If you are interested in becoming one of the first people to use this, please email us and we’ll notify you as soon as it is ready. We are always looking for early adopters.

Immutable means that the object is not capable of or susceptible to change.

Certainly, for a small extra fee. However, some certificates are easier than others, so please get in touch and we can provide a tailor made quote for you.

Blockchain is a system of recording information in a way that makes it difficult or impossible to change, hack, or cheat the system. A blockchain is essentially a digital ledger of transactions that is duplicated and distributed across the entire network of computer systems on the blockchain.

We give you the opportunity to certify your own training and your own content. You know the value and the benefit it provides. We help you to publish this as permanent, immutable record of your candidates’ achievements.

No problem, while we are working on a flexible interface, we are happy to make the necessary adjustments, just get in touch.

Web 3.0 is the third generation of internet services for websites and applications that will focus on using a machine-based understanding of data to provide a data-driven and Semantic Web. The ultimate goal of Web 3.0 is to create more intelligent, connected and open websites.

Certainly, you can upload a simple csv file with all the details and your certificates will created in one go. It may take a few minutes though.

If you provided email addresses of the candidates, they will received an email as well, you will not need to worry about sending them out.

NFT stands for non-fungible token. It’s generally built using the same kind of programming as cryptocurrency, like Bitcoin or Ethereum, but that’s where the similarity ends. Physical money and cryptocurrencies are “fungible,” meaning they can be traded or exchanged for one another. NFTs are different. Each has a unique digital signature that makes them impossible to exchange as they are no longer equivalent, hence non-fungible.
