Paying for Open CPD from India

Open CPD is used by training providers around the world, and payment is now taken in Indian rupees by UPI or card. If a payment does not go through, it is nearly always something your bank or UPI app can clear in a minute.

You can pay in rupees, by UPI or card

Visitors in India see rupee prices automatically on the pricing page, and payment is taken in rupees. There is no currency conversion for you to work out and no separate Indian price list to hunt for.

Prices are held in one place and shown live, which is why this page does not repeat them. Whatever the pricing page says today is what you will be charged.

How to pay by UPI

Choose UPI on the payment form and the rest happens in your usual UPI app.

  1. 1
Choose your package and start checkout

Pick a package on the pricing page and press the subscribe button. The secure payment form opens on the page.

  2. 2
    Select UPI

Choose UPI as the payment method and enter your UPI ID. Cards remain available if you prefer to pay that way.

  3. 3
Approve the request in your UPI app

A request arrives in your UPI app. Approve it with your UPI PIN. Have your phone to hand and the app open before you start, so the request is not missed.

  4. 4
    Your account is ready

You return to Open CPD as soon as the payment is confirmed, and your package is active.

If a payment does not go through

Nearly every failed payment is something your bank or UPI app can clear in a minute. These are the usual causes.

The approval request was missed or timed out

UPI requests expire if they are not approved in time. Open your UPI app first, then start the payment again and approve the new request promptly.

A UPI limit has been reached

UPI apps and banks set daily and per-payment limits, and recurring UPI payments carry their own limits. If the amount is above a limit, you can raise it in your UPI app, pay by card instead, or tell us and we will help find a route that works.

Online or international card payments are switched off

Many Indian banks keep online or international card use off until you switch it on. Most banking apps let you enable it yourself under card settings or limits. Turning it on and trying again resolves most card cases.

The card verification step did not complete

Card payments are verified by your bank with a one-time code or an in-app approval. If that prompt does not arrive, or arrives after the page has timed out, try again with your phone ready.

Before you try again

Working through these in order clears the great majority of failed payments.

  • Open your UPI app and check it is working and linked to the right bank account.
  • Check your UPI or card limit is above the amount you are paying.
  • For cards, enable online and international payments in your banking app.
  • Approve the request promptly, with your phone in hand.
  • If the payment failed more than twice, wait a short while before retrying, since repeated attempts can trigger a further block.

If it still will not go through

Get in touch and tell us what happened, including whether you saw a specific message from your bank or UPI app. Please do not send us card numbers, UPI PINs or any part of them: we do not need them, and no legitimate request for payment details will ever come from us by email.

We can look at whether the attempt reached us at all, which itself narrows the cause considerably, and we can talk through the alternatives if your bank will not budge.

Keeping a subscription active

Your currency is fixed when you first subscribe, so a subscription started in rupees renews in rupees. If a renewal fails, the usual reason is a UPI approval that needs setting up again, or a card that has expired or been reissued. Updating the payment method in your account restores the subscription without you needing to sign up again.

If a renewal is going to be a problem in a particular month, tell us before it lapses rather than afterwards. It is far easier to keep an account running than to restore one.

Frequently asked questions

Can I pay for Open CPD in rupees?
Yes. Visitors in India see rupee prices automatically and are charged in rupees. There is nothing to convert and no separate Indian price list.
Can I pay by UPI?
Yes. Choose UPI on the payment form, enter your UPI ID and approve the request in your UPI app. You can also pay by card.
Why was my UPI payment or card declined?
Most often the approval request timed out, a UPI or card limit was reached, or the bank has online or international card payments switched off. All of these can usually be changed in your banking or UPI app in a minute.
Will my subscription renew automatically?
Yes. A subscription renews on its billing date in rupees, using the payment method you set up at sign-up. If that method needs approving again, we will tell you.
My renewal failed and my subscription lapsed. What now?
Update the payment method in your account, which is usually all that is needed. If that does not restore it, contact support and we will sort it out.
