This summary explains the key points of using Open CPD.

What Open CPD is

Open CPD is a software platform that lets training providers issue professional certificates for their training, events and courses. We don't accredit, approve or validate the content, accuracy or legal status of any training delivered or certificate issued through the platform — that responsibility sits with the provider using it.

Your responsibilities

You agree to comply with the laws and regulations that apply to your training and certification activity, hold any licences or registrations your jurisdiction requires, keep the information you enter accurate, and keep your account secure. Our trademarked logos may only be used for certificates genuinely issued through the platform.

What's not allowed

You must not issue certificates outside the platform while using our logo, add our branding to certificates created elsewhere, misuse the platform for fraudulent or abusive purposes, or attempt to copy, reverse-engineer or redistribute it.

Subscriptions and credits

Open CPD runs on a subscription and credit model: one credit issues one certificate, subscriptions run for 12 months from your last payment, and price changes only apply to credits bought after the change. Certificates issued in error aren't refunded, and once issued they generally can't be deleted.

Suspension and removal

We can suspend or remove access if a regulator flags a breach, if content violates our platform standards, or for repeated or serious violations of these Terms.

Intellectual property

The Open CPD name, logos and platform design are trademarked and remain our property. They may only be used in connection with certificates genuinely issued through Open CPD.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as our features, business or the law changes. We'll let you know by email or in-platform notification; continuing to use Open CPD after that means you accept the update.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the UK courts.
