Training happens in your organisation. Staff develop. Volunteers grow. But when a funder, a trustee, or a regulator asks what that training achieved, what do you show them?

For most charitable organisations, the evidence is a PDF with a name and a date. That is not what a funder asking about organisational capacity wants to see. It is not what a CQC inspector is looking for. And it is not what trustees need to discharge their governance responsibilities.

In this session we will look at what proper training evidence looks like, how to structure your learning activity so the outcomes are visible, and how to issue credentials that answer the hard questions, without building new systems or adding significant admin.

Free to attend. Practical throughout.

Who is this for?

Training leads, L&D managers, and operations staff in charities, social enterprises, and voluntary organisations who need to demonstrate the impact of their training to funders, trustees, or regulators — and currently issue certificates that don't carry enough information to do that job.

What will you get?

  • A plain-English explanation of what CPD credentials are and what distinguishes a useful one from a decorative one
  • What funders, trustees, and regulators are actually looking for when they ask for training evidence
  • How to structure your training with clear Aims, Skills, and Outcomes so every certificate tells a complete story
  • A look at verifiable digital credentials — what they contain, how they work, and what they cost
  • Practical first steps for making your training documentation funder-ready without significant additional admin

What others are saying

I registered thinking I'd sit in the background and listen. Ended up asking three questions and came away with a clear action plan.

Daniel, Training Consultant, UK

Open CPD's sessions are the opposite of a webinar. Someone actually engaged with my situation rather than presenting at me.

Priya, L&D Manager, Australia

Short enough to commit to, specific enough to be useful. I walked away knowing exactly what needed changing.

Saoírse, Independent Trainer, Ireland

I wasn't sure this was relevant to me. Thirty minutes in I realised it was exactly what I'd been missing.

Marcus, Course Designer, South Africa

Frequently asked questions

Is this really free?

Yes. No charge and no sales pitch. We run these sessions to help training providers build better credentials. You'll get practical information whether or not you're an Open CPD customer.

Will there be a recording?

Yes. Register and we'll send you the link after the session, whether you attend live or not.

Do I need to be an Open CPD customer?

No. Many attendees are exploring CPD for the first time or comparing options. Others are already using Open CPD but want input on specific questions. All are welcome.

What do I need to prepare?

Nothing. Come with questions if you have them, or just listen in. The sessions are practical and conversational, no background knowledge required.
